What is considered wellness coaching

Whether you are interested in becoming a wellness coach or working with a wellness coach, this article will break down what a wellness coach really is and how they help their clients. A wellness coach is defined as someone who works with their clients to set and achieve health-centered goals. Wellness as a term encompasses physical, mental, spiritual and emotional health. Therefore a wellness coach is geared to ensure that each client is being tended to as a whole person, rather than just focusing on one component of their well-being. Each wellness coach has a different approach to working with their clients, usually breaking down the different components of well-being to address individually before incorporating it into the whole picture. In my practice we do the following:

Initial Consultation

At Forming Her Wellness, we always start by getting to know our potential clients, surveying why they want to work with a health coach and what we can provide for them. Not everyone is going to be the best candidate, this work requires real commitment and devotion to the process. If this sounds like you, keep reading.

Goal- Setting

Once we’ve initially onboarded you as a client, we’ll go ahead and take inventory of your goals. What do you want to get out of our time together? More importantly, what is your WHY? This will help guide all of the work we do together moving forward.

Mental + Nutritional Detox

Detoxing is a pillar here at Forming Her Wellness. We believe in the importance of shedding limiting beliefs, toxic negativity, and generational leftovers. This part of the process is a very spiritual pursuit. You will detox the body and, with that, the mind. Not to worry- your wellness coach will be with you along the way, guiding you through challenging emotions and ‘aha’ moments.

Ritual Creation

Forming Her Wellness always works with clients to create sustainable, fitting, and healthy rituals for our clients. We want our clients to have healthy habits that feed their mind, body and soul - but in the ways that best suit them individually. We care most about what works for YOU.

Nutritional Changes

Throughout our work together, nutrition becomes a big factor. We believe that food carries a lot of energy that can affect us both positively and negatively. We’ll find recipes and meals that suit your personal tastes and schedules so you can be healthy, happy and satiated.

Lifestyle Changes

Towards the end of our work together, you’ll need to be able to identify the changes you feel are holding you back from being optimally well. These might be certain habits around
grocery-shopping or letting go of certain relationships that harm you. Whatever the case, this is a crucial part of any step.

Positive Character Traits Work

We want you to leave knowing for certain just how amazing you are! This means we want to really highlight and focus on all the beautiful things you bring to the table. We’ll leave you feeling empowered and proud of all the good things that make up YOU.

Structure for Continued Growth

Wellness coaching is designed to leave you with the capacity for continued growth. While you may not be working with us forever, we’ll make sure that you leave our time together with new knowledge for how to keep up these new changes for the rest of your life. Investing now, so you can be well later.
